Description: adult female is usually jet black but occasionally have light streaks on upperside of the abdomen. Usually has a hourglass – shaped bright reddish spot on the underside of the globular abdomen.

Nature of Injury: the venom is a neurotoxin, that is it acts on the nervous system.

If bitten call a doctor immediately. Never attempt self treatment.
